Last week's a good one for me...my mom finally decided to invest $16K in my business, and shiwei has signed up under me too! Wow, both in a day, twas pretty much for me to take...but honestly, it still haven't really sunken into me yet...haha, too good to be true actually. =)
Watched Troy with Eileen today, gosh...Brad Pitt's body...*drools*. It was quite a good show overall, but i overate the kachang puteh and that feelin kinda spoilt the show a little.
Plans for the week: MEET MORE PEOPLE! haha..

Is it true that all of us don't know what we are gonna get in life? Are each and every one of our lives gonna be different from others' if we don't do anything different from everyone else? I'm starting to worry for those who think so. Why?
Everybody goes to school, get their certs, come out to join the working class, and somehow hope that their lives would be special in one way or another. The more practical ones may jus foresee that one day, they'll own a car, a house, start a family and live happily ever after. Probably they aren't even craving for a fancy live...jus live humbly, be contented and happy. Some dream big dreams and spend all their lives doing jus that.
We all know that people who lead this kind of lives basically have the same story to tell. They talk about job security, make small investments and plan for the future etc...but do they know what they are really working for? Bread and butter? For extra money to buy the things they want? To support their family? To buy a car, house...or to pay of eternal debts? What's new? They jus think in terms of the ideal scenario where the economy is always at peace, where they'll never lose their jobs, or where they can even switch jobs according to their liking. Unfortunately, this scenario is only a dream...a really pathetic dream that alot of people have.
But what is the problem here? What's wrong with earning a stable income and living life the way that everyone lives? Well, if you're doing something you're really passionate about, then there probably is no problem, and i wish these luckier people all the best. But imagine if we spend our lives doing something jus for the sake of money, will we be really happy? Even if we can earn the money, do we have the time to spend it? If we spend it, how about our savings and the future? So many other things to consider...in short, you'll jus be another person stuck in the rat race. You'll jus slowly kill off your dreams one by one till you surrender to the "real world" and accept your "fate".
Why is it that people know the ending of this story is something they hope to avoid, but yet still choose to be part of it? Why don't they even CONSIDER a different story? Its simply a matter of choice really. One big irony is that most of our parents give up their own dreams to put us through the bl**dy educational system in hope of helpin us live OUR dreams...then we do that for OUR children...and the cycle goes on. In the end? Dreams will remain as dreams, fullstop. It doesnt even mean anything to people now. This damned system has blinded most of us from the other choices. What's so hard about guessing the contents inside the box of chocolates then?
My mom still has her dreams, tho i already sense that it is fading away...she hopes to become a famous artiste, she wants to travel to different parts of europe, she dreams of driving the mercedes benz, she had always wanted to live in a big beautiful house...etc. By the day, month and year, it jus drifts further and further away from her. But when i decided to ask my dad about his dreams one day, my heart totally sank. He had lost it all. Even when i stressed the words "jus imagine you had the money, what would you wanna do?", he would think for quite long, as though he'll start sharing about it, and then he'll shake his head and say, "that's out of the question." I'm really really heart broken to hear that because he gave his all, including his dreams to this family.
I don't know what it takes to revive my parents' dreams...but one thing is for sure: it all boils down to $$$. So i'm choosing a different path, a path taken by successful people...i want to become a success story and i want it when my family is still around and not too old to share it with me. I may not know what's inside my box of chocolates, but at least i know it'll be different from the other boxes. I don't ask for my friends to follow my path or watsoever, but i really hope they could choose a success path of their own too...
